LOCAL EVENTS

One-day training local event and fair event entitled “Personal Activation – Job Search Tips”, organised by ANATOLIKI SA within PAL Project on Friday, 16th June 2017 in Thessaloniki.

The event will be held in cooperation with the municipality of Ampelokipoi-Menemeni, Thessaloniki, where most Roma live. The purpose of this event is to enhance employment and bring unemployed Roma together with entrepreneurs, training organizations and specialized consultants to help Roma jobseekers by giving them knowledge and efforts to act more actively and successfully.  Programme (EL)

 

i° PUSH EMPLOYMENT TRAINING EVENT IN ROME

13/05/2017
Consorzio Innopolis organized the first Push Employment Training event open to Roma youngsters. Participants were told about the strategy and possibilities of business creation: how to prepare a business plan, what are the funding tools, market analysis and assessment of competition etc. Self-employment can be one of the tools for fostering social and working inclusion of Roma people.

Sinti MUSIC AT PHOTO festival 

05/05/2017. Four young Sinti performed on the inaugural weekend of the European Photography event in Reggio Emilia, Italy. Three photographers wanted gipsy music to inaugurate their exhibitions.

Sean, Sam, Sharon and Joey performed for over two hours in front of an enthusiastic audience, proud to show the “Gagi” their musical abilities and be happy to be protagonists of a very important event for the city they live in.

FIRST ROUNDTABLE IN LARISSA-GREECE

12/05/2017. Institute of Psychosocial Development (Ι.Ψ.Α.) organised the 1st Roundtable “Information Network on Education & Employment of Roma people in the Region of Thessaly”. Public sectors and experts with a thorough experience in Roma issues participated, sharing with us their scientific knowledge and professional practices.

HOW TO IMPROVE LOCAL ROMA INCLUSION

The European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) published a report describing general trends on what works and what doesn’t when it comes to boosting Roma inclusion. The results were outlined during a stocktaking event on Roma integration efforts on 28 March in Brussels.

MORTAL ARSON AT ROMA SETTLEMENT IN ROME

10/05/2017 Three Roma sisters (a young Roma woman and two children) died in an arson that burnt the camper where they lived with their family. It is still unknown if it’s a case of racism or not, but surely this fact increases the urgency of a full social inclusion of Roma people.
